Why MOQ Changes
A simple repeatable style may have different setup and sourcing needs from a new custom design. Tooling, specialized components, stone matching, plating, engraving, testing, or custom packaging can add minimum batch requirements.
MOQ can also be affected by how quantities are divided. An order of one hundred pieces in one size and finish is operationally different from one hundred pieces split across ten sizes, several colors, and multiple packaging versions.

How Buyers Can Prepare
Estimate quantity by style and each required variant. Mark which details are fixed and which may be adjusted. If several products share components, finishes, or packaging, identify those relationships without assuming they automatically reduce the minimum.
Ask the supplier to state MOQ at the same level as the quotation: per design, size, color, finish, component, or packaging version. This makes the commercial requirement easier to compare with demand and inventory risk.
Questions to Confirm
Confirm whether the MOQ applies to sampling or production, whether variants can be combined, whether tooling or packaging has separate minimums, and how a quantity change affects unit price and schedule.
